Mark Andy Celebrating 77 years.
Mark Andrews the founder of Mark Andy Inc. USA started his small flexographic printing press business in 1946. The first machines made were for printing onto “sticky tape”. These machines were modified when Stan Avery (founder of Avery Dennison) came to Mark with his “invention”, pre-glued material stock in roll form, today known as self-adhesive or pressure sensitive labels.
77 years on Mark Andy Inc. USA are still world leaders in the narrow/mid web flexo and digital printing. Mark Andy has the widest range of printing and converting equipment from any one manufacturer. Over 50% of their production is exported making them a true global player.
The Mark Andy range of equipment developed from basic “label & tag” machinery into all sorts of narrow/mid web printing capable of handling multiple substrates such as thin films for flexible packaging and shrink sleeves right up to board materials for the manufacture of folding cartons.
Their “Hybrid Flexo/Digital” presses has been very successful and covers the full range from the entry level Digital Pro right up to the HD Series – the market leader.
Rotoflex Celebrating 50 years.
Rotoflex is a global leader in offline finishing solutions. From the most basic slitting and label inspection to the most advanced high speed die cutting requirements, Rotoflex has a fully servo driven machine suitable for the converter’s needs.
The company’s rich history began in 1973 when Rotoflex International began to produce rotary tooling and later, converting equipment for the label printing industry. Starting with Canadian and US manufacturing facilities, Rotoflex expanded to see machine sales in over 75 countries.
Rotoflex pioneered the first vertical inspection slitting and rewinding machine in the early 1970’s, introducing the VSI (Vertical Small Inspection) to the label market at Labelexpo Americas in Chicago. As the first prototype machine to prove the possibility of vertical inspection and inline slitting, it became the new standard in label finishing. The VSI/VLI series of high-speed inspection, slitting, and rewinding machines are very well accepted throughout the world.
GEW Celebrating 33 years
GEW was formed in March 1991 by Gillian and Malcolm Rae, to provide the narrow web label market with compact, efficient air-cooled UV curing systems.
In 1999 GEW were awarded the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement, having doubled export sales in the preceding 3 years.
Today GEW equipment is used on many of the world’s most advanced printing machines, such as Mark Andy. Their products are highly regarded for their standard of engineering, reliability and performance.
GEW specialises in the design of UV LED systems, having introduced its latest UV LED product, AeroLED, in early 2022. Representing the next generation for UV LED curing, AeroLED eliminates the need for a chiller by air-cooling from a single remote fan to bring UV LED within affordable reach for all.
