The Mark Andy range of flexographic label manufacturing equipment forms the core of our business. SArepco are one of Mark Andy’s oldest distributors having sold Mark Andy flexographic presses in Southern Africa for around 30 years. Besides the Mark Andy equipment SArepco offer a wide range of auxiliary converting equipment and are capable of setting up complete manufacturing plants for the narrow web printing and converting industry.
Mark Andrews the founder of Mark Andy Inc. USA started his small flexographic printing press business in 1946. The first machines he made were for printing onto “sticky tape”. These machines were modified when Stan Avery (founder of Avery Dennison) came to Mark with his “invention”, pre-glued material stock in roll form, today known as self-adhesive or pressure sensitive labels.
70 years on Mark Andy Inc. USA are still world leaders in the narrow web printing and converting industry. Mark Andy has the widest range of printing and converting equipment from any one manufacturer. Their range of machinery ranges from a plain label converting system with a 10” web width right up to the Versa Max range of presses often 12 colours or more and up to a 26” web width. Well over 50% of their press production is exported making them a true global player.
Mark Andy embraces new technology such as servo drive which has become virtually standard on their range of Performance series and Versa Max range of presses. So far 5 International awards have been given to Mark Andy for the Performance series press including a joint award with the Flint Group for LED ink curing.
The Mark Andy range of equipment has for many years diversified from a basic “label & tag” machinery into all sorts of narrow web printing capable of handling multiple substrates such as thin films for the flexible packaging and shrink sleeves right up to board materials for the manufacture of folding cartons.
The latest “Hybrid Digital” press has now been launched in the USA market and the international launch will be around the middle of 2016.
Rotoflex is a global leader in offline finishing solutions. From the most basic slitting and label inspection to the most advanced die cutting requirements, Rotoflex has a servo driven machine suitable for the converter's needs.
The company's rich history began in 1973 when Rotoflex International began to produce rotary tooling and later, converting equipment for the label printing industry. Starting with Canadian and US manufacturing facilities, Rotoflex expanded to see machine sales in over 75 countries.
Rotoflex pioneered the first vertical inspection slitting and rewinding machine in the early 1970’s, introducing the VSI to the label market at Labelexpo Americas in Chicago. As the first prototype machine to prove the possibility of vertical inspection and razor blade slitting, it became the new standard in label slitting and rewinding. Today, the VSI series of high speed inspection, slitting, and rewinding machines is the most well-recognized and accepted throughout the world.
Rotoflex established itself as a leader in web tension management with the development of it's exclusive eDrive system, which offers a number of benefits including consistent performance, low maintenance, lower tension/higher speeds, easy job set up and operation. This system is offered on the full line of Rotoflex servo driven slitter/rewinders and die cutters.
The innovation of the company resulted in the honor of receiving the 2007 Continuous Innovation Award during the 4th Annual Label Industry Awards at Labelexpo Europe 2007. Sponsored by Labels & Labeling, Label & Narrow Web, and NarroWebTech magazine, this award recognized Rotoflex International as a long-established, innovative and pioneering company; instrumental in continuously developing the science and technology of the label industry.
